Introduction

“Have you heard the latest on saturated fat?” “What’s your BMI?”  “What is your carb to protein ratio for your size and weight?”  Everyday there are questions and comments swirling around about our food intake. The medical world in constantly offering new opinions and there are many people who coined themselves experts when it comes to eating, dieting and weight loss.  But what does God say about all the hype?  How do you know when you have crossed the line over into food bondage?

This book was inspired by my many years of struggling through all of the above questions and so many more.  Because we need food in order to survive, nourishing our bodies can quickly turn into a stumbling block for many people.  Christians are not an exception to this rule.  In fact, it seems to be the often unspoken sin in the Body of Christ.

As you take the journey through the chapters of this book, my prayer is that every chain of food bondage that is holding you down will be broken in Jesus’ name.

I sincerely ask you to work diligently on each chapter with the Lord.  This book is not a race to the finish.  The chapters are designed to tear down the strongholds in your life that have held you down in food bondage.

I urge you to linger over the prayer at the end of each chapter.  There is an anointing that abides in each prayer to set you free.  May this book be your final journey in your struggle with food and I pray your soul will be at peace as you finish the last chapter.

When I first began this project, I thought the book would be mainly for men and women who are struggling with typical food issues. As more people have field tested this book, we are experiencing the joy of seeing those suffering with anorexia and bulimia set free as well.  I couldn’t be happier!  If you know someone who struggles with either eating disorder (or both), please bless them with a copy.  You may save their life!  Visit our newest blog site where great discussions are happening on Anorexia, Bulimia, exercise and food in general.  Even though this web site is geared toward Christians looking for God’s answers to eating disorders, I pray it will be a beacon of light and hope to all.
